A
scooter restoration project can be broken down into 3 definitive
stages. Below is an overview of what is involved at each stage
but if you would like to take a look at the Vespa 90 link on
the left you can follow our latest project.
Stage1.
The project is stripped down to it's component parts. The serviceable
parts are retained and the frame, forks, body panel, wheels, hubs
etc are blasted. The panel & frame work are repaired or welded
where necessary and primed ready for paint. All parts are finished
in two pack paint with the colour of your choice.
The
crank case is stripped bare, usually the case is then cleaned,
rough surfaces removed and is either blasted, powder coated or
painted to your preference.
|
|
| Stage2.
The engine is then fully rebuilt using new quality parts including
crankshaft, bearings, seals, clutch chain guides. We fit electronic
ignition as an option but are happy to return the machine with
standard original electrical equipment. All engines are rebuilt
to include your personal requirements with any performance enhancements
added.
Stage3.
The machine is then rebuilt with new cables, electrical looms,
rubber trim and badges etc. When finished the scooter will look
better than when it first left the factory. of course this would
be due to the use of modern materials.
The
work is carried out in our workshop so if you would like to enquire
about a scooter restoration, please do not hesitate to contact
us with any enquiry.
